24 Hours Full of Fun and Memorable Smiles!
 |
"Thank you to all the teams for raising money to send kids like me to camp. I hope you had a great time!"
- Paul Scholefield, Easter Seals Camper, Age 15

So this is what it's all about? 24 hours full of fun, activities and memorable smiles? I imagine what we all experienced at the Relay is similar to what our Easter Seals Campers experience; a week full of fun, activities and memories that will last them their entire lives. After all, that's why we all participate in this fantastic event - it's for the kids!
From Relay pros to Relay rookies like me, the 2006 Relay was an unforgettable experience. This year 140 teams registered for the Relay; that's over 4000 people running, watching, singing, dancing, playing bocce, playing volleyball and just having a rockin' good time! We spent 24 hours camping in a beautiful park in the city, we watched the Edmonton Oilers win, munched on some great refreshments, spent time with our co-workers, family and friends and we did it all for the kids!
I am so proud to be part of this experience and so proud that I could be included in each and every one of your teams. From big to small, from corporate to recreational teams - you all deserve a huge pat on the back for your time, dedication and commitment to this event. Without each and every one of you, we could not do what we do best, which is sending kids to Easter Seals camps.
Thank you to the Team Captains & Co-Captains for putting together 140 super teams. Once again, you amaze us with your dedication, leadership and spunk! I know that sometimes it can be challenging but you pulled it off with such ease and we truly want to thank you! We appreciate it, your team mates appreciate it and so do over 900 little smiles upon Easter Seals Campers. Actually, they really love it!
Thank you to all the new teams, the returning teams, your donors and supporters. This summer your hard work is helping to send BC children with disabilities to one of three Easter Seals camps - Camp Winfield, Camp Shawnigan Lake and Camp Squamish!
A big Hip Hip HURRAY to all first year teams who raised over $5,000!
