Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay
Entertainment

Everyone knows the 24 Hour Relay is more than just running around in circles all day (and all night!) long. This year was no exception - in fact, we had so much going on off the course that it's truly remarkable teams even found time to run! Once you finished your first, second or tenth lap, there was a ton of other stuff in the Stadium to keep you busy. Wanna re-live the Relay fun? Keep reading!

Urban Rec was back in full force (on the infield this time around, thank goodness!) with their signature volleyball and bocce tournaments going on all day Saturday. What's better than a winning spike or a great bocce hit in the sunshine on a weekend in June? Not much else!

The Back Concourse of the Stadium was a whirlwind of activity, with the BC Lions Football Toss, Partyworks Golf Drive and Bouncy Castle and Kids Zone in full swing. Matt Levy, juggler, comedian and stuntman extraordinaire, wowed his audience young and old with his "Safety Matt'rs" performance just outside the Kids Zone tent, and Doodles the Clown had everyone mesmerized with animal balloons.

The Main Stage kept it rocking with the sounds of The Marmaladies, the VOC Soul Gospel Choir, Ten Souljers, Wall Street and The Radically Hip. And let's not forget Cardio-Core's Bootcamp demo and magician Trevor Watters. If you were looking for a place to cool down and unwind, acoustic guitar player Kal Mollison performed two sets in the Beer Garden, and right next door the West Coast College of Massage Therapy worked out runners' kinks.

Late-night entertainment included a Nintendo Wii tournament (with systems and games generously donated by Rogers Video on Oak St.) and the Relay's first-ever Poker Game presented by Pirana Poker BC. There were even movies playing (also donated by Rogers Video on Oak St.) into the wee hours of the morning. If you had a lot of energy, basketballs were available to practice your jump shot on the back concourse. To round out an incredible 24 hours of non-stop fun, the lovely Nicole Marcia held a tranquil yoga class on the infield at 7 am on Sunday.

The 24 Hour Relay would not be the incredible event it is without the generosity and time of all the entertainers who came out on the weekend - either during the day, late at night or early in the morning. Thank you to each and every one of you!
