Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay
Entertainment

Do you feel as though entertainment at the Relay gets bigger and better every year? That’s because it does! We know you love running the race, but when you and your teammates need some downtime, we want to be sure there are plenty of options for you to choose from.

This year’s Main Stage was literally bigger than it ever has been before, and that’s a great thing because it meant we could bring you an amazing act like SWARM, the hyper-kinetic moving drum show that got everyone moving to the beat. Also rocking the Main Stage this year was Kokoma, The Northern Sound Advanced Girls Choir, Cardio-Core and their ever-popular bootcamp, the amazing VOC Soul Gospel Choir, Warren Dean, Catrina Centanni, Robert Kennedy, the swingin’ Dr. Strangelove, and the hilarious Mr. & Ms. Relay Pageant. Whew!

And if that wasn’t enough for you, we also added an entire entertainment ZONE over at the South End of the stadium, complete with a stage on which you saw children’s performer She, the acoustic stylings of Kal Mollison, the hilarious Triple Play Improv, and finished off the night with Pirana Poker in the beer garden! Also available in the beer garden were two Wii units for free play, generously donated by Rogers Video at Oak St & 15th Ave. The fun in the South End also extended to the life-saving massage tent, an inflatable rock-climbing wall, bouncy castle, and a BC Lions throw and kick. The Kids Zone sported amazing crafts along with some memorable characters who drew pictures, made balloon animals, or painted faces for any kids – young or old!

Over on the back concourse was the important Camper Connection tent so Relay participants could experience the kinds of things we send kids to camp to do and meet some campers, and the Sportability Zone so everyone could experience the amazing sport options available to those who are differently abled.

And for the night owls, the infield sported a giant inflatable screen generously donated by eBay, playing Indiana Jones and Top Gun through the wee hours of the morning until 5am.

With all this, do you think we can possibly top ourselves for next year? You’ll have to come out and see!
